{"id":486,"date":"2019-08-26T18:58:06","date_gmt":"2019-08-26T18:58:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/zacklischerkatz.com\/?p=486"},"modified":"2019-08-26T18:58:06","modified_gmt":"2019-08-26T18:58:06","slug":"upcoming-talk-at-ipres-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/zacklischerkatz.com\/?p=486","title":{"rendered":"Upcoming Talk at iPres 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I will be presenting with my colleague <a href=\"https:\/\/guides.lib.vt.edu\/prf.php?account_id=57359\">Dr. Nathan Hall (Virginia Tech Libraries,\u00a0Director, Digital Imaging and Preservation Services)<\/a>\u00a0at the upcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/ipres2019.org\/\">iPRES conference, the 16th annual international conference on digital preservation<\/a>, which will be held in Amsterdam this September. We will be presenting findings from the second national forum that we put on (on the topic of\u00a03D\/VR Visualization and Analysis), as\u00a0part of our grant, <a href=\"https:\/\/lib.vt.edu\/research-learning\/lib3dvr.html\">&#8220;Developing Library Strategy for 3D and Virtual Reality Collection Development and Reuse,&#8221;<\/a>\u00a0generously funded by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imls.gov\/grants\/awarded\/lg-73-17-0141-17\">Institute of Museum and Library Services (grant # LG-73-17-0141-17)<\/a>. The paper is entitled, &#8220;Supporting Virtual Reality and 3D in Academic Libraries: Defining Preservation and Curation Challenges,&#8221; and it will be included in the conference&#8217;s published proceedings, set to be released in late 2019.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m looking forward to visiting the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eyefilm.nl\/en\">EYE Museum<\/a>, seeing some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdam.info\/canals\/\">well-designed canals, dikes, and other forms of water-control infrastructure<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/terms\/d\/dutch_tulip_bulb_market_bubble.asp\">becoming an early investor in the burgeoning tulip bulb market<\/a> that I&#8217;ve been hearing so much about.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I will be presenting with my colleague Dr. Nathan Hall (Virginia Tech Libraries,\u00a0Director, Digital Imaging and Preservation Services)\u00a0at the upcoming iPRES conference, the 16th annual international conference on digital preservation, which will be held in Amsterdam this September.
